Police Search for Man Who Jumped from Mid-Hudson Bridge
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for a man who jumped off the Mid-Hudson Bridge Sunday night.
The city of Poughkeepsie Police Department said it received a call from the bridge’s help line about 9:06 p.m. Sunday from a man who threatened suicide and then hung up the phone. Officers responding to the call found personal belongings on the bridge.
The city of Poughkeepsie Fire Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office both responded with boats and searched the river, but nothing was found.
Police said a review of the bridge camera system showed a person jumping from the bridge. The Sheriff’s Office said it would continue the search on Monday.
